Perler Bead Fridge Magnets: Soft Magnet Strip + Nano Tape Tutorial

Finished bead pieces look even better on the fridge. This method uses equal-width soft magnetic strip (软磁条) and nano tape (纳米胶) — often 20mm each — so the backing is strong, tidy, and easy to cut to size. Six steps from materials to a full fridge wall of magnets.

Final look — food icons, characters, and mini motifs stuck firmly on the fridge.

1. Prepare equal-width soft magnet + nano tape

Buy a flexible magnetic strip and nano / gel tape with the same width (example shown: both 20mm). Matching widths make alignment clean and keep edges from peeking out behind small bead pieces.

Quality adhesive on the magnet side (e.g. 3M-style backing) helps the sandwich stay flat when you work on the fridge door.

2. Peel the magnet paper — stick it on the fridge first

Remove the paper liner from the soft magnetic strip. For stability, stick the strip vertically onto the fridge door while you work — the metal surface holds it still better than a wobbly table.

Peel the entire paper backing so the adhesive face is ready for nano tape.

3. Align nano tape — slowly

Line up the starting edge of the nano tape with the top of the magnet strip, then press downward along the length.

Go slow. Misalignment here shows on every magnet you cut later. Take your time and keep the tape centered.

4–5. Peel plastic for the length you need — cut magnet, keep liner

When you are ready to back a bead piece, peel only as much nano-tape plastic film as the length you need.

Cut through the soft magnetic strip (and the sticky nano layer), but do not cut away the leftover plastic liner on the roll. That red film is hard to restart once lost — leaving a tail makes the next peel easy.

6. Stick onto the bead art — done

Place the magnet sandwich on the back center of your fused piece (tweezers help on small circles). Press firmly. Your fridge magnet is ready.
