Perler Bead Ironing Method Notes
A pocket cheat sheet for five common ironing finishes. Match the tool stack, decide mirror vs no-mirror (usually with masking-tape transfer), then peel at the right temperature.
1. Single-side no-hole
Tool: baking cloth (or parchment-style ironing sheet).
Layout: mirror the design when using masking-tape transfer.
Peel: wait until the sheet is no longer hot to the touch, then tear.
2. Wrinkle ironing
Tool: air-fryer liner paper (the crinkled sheet that imprints folds).
Layout: mirror when using masking tape.
Peel: same as no-hole — cool enough to touch, then tear.
3. Scrub-mitt / bath-scrub ironing
Stack: baking cloth + scrub mitt, with a regular towel as padding underneath.
Layout: do not mirror when using masking tape (transfer face stays as placed).
Peel: wipe the baking-cloth face with a face towel to cool it, then tear while still warm.
4. Towel ironing
Stack: baking cloth + towel, padded with a double towel layer.
Layout: no mirror with masking tape.
Peel: wipe-cool the cloth face, then tear while warm — same timing habit as scrub-mitt.
5. Glitter / Cinderella ironing
Stack: baking cloth + glitter or Cinderella transfer fabric, towel padding below.
Layout: no mirror with masking tape.
Peel: wipe-cool the cloth face, then wait until closer to room temperature before tearing.
Heat window: too hot → fewer sequins stick; too cool → the fabric bonds and peels the beads with it. Practice on scrap beads first.
